Nothing Forgotten is a work of upmarket fiction that explores the themes of unrequited love and grief over a relinquished child.

When her aunt Doris dies, leaving her an apartment in Rome, Anna, an artist and teacher living in California with her husband and daughter, has a chance to revisit a tempestuous chapter of her youth. Sergio, whom Anna loved when she lived in Rome twenty-five years earlier, locates her on the web and contacts her to offer his condolences. Anna's marriage and family life are threatened as she falls back in love with Sergio.

Can betrayal ever be justified? What does it take to forgive the mistakes of youth? Is it possible for a woman with a bad mother to become a good mother herself? These are the questions the novel asks when Anna and Sergio find each other again and unravel each other's secrets, concluding that they must meet again, at whatever cost, in order to resolve the tragic misunderstandings between them—and potentially find their lost child.

Jessica Levine is an award-winning creative writer and translator. Her first novel, THE GEOMETRY OF LOVE, was chosen as a Top Ten Women's Fiction Title for 2015 by the American Library Association's Booklist and was described by Foreword as "lyrical and realistic." Her short stories, essays, and poetry have appeared in many publications including Huffington Post and The Southern Review. Jessica Levine holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of California, Berkeley, where she was a Mellon Fellow.
