It’s in the middle of a cold December night when Claire’s car gets stuck in a ditch as she’s driving through the mountains very far from her Parisian apartment. Today was her wedding day except that he fiancé stood her up at the altar. With nothing to wear but her wedding dress, Claire gets out of the car in order to find help. And she does when she literally runs into Hugo after being chased by what she thinks are wolves but really just dogs.
Hugo thinks she’s a bit crazy but of course provides her shelter for the night. The next day Claire learns that Hugo’s mother recently died of cancer but, so as not to disrupt his successful hockey career in the US, she didn’t even tell him that she was ill. And now he has inherited her bed & breakfast but is not sure what to do with it.
Well, Claire knows. Without a honeymoon to go on, she uses her energy to finding business for the B&B and to helping Hugo run it until she needs to go back to her reality in Paris.
While the two may drive each other crazy, they certainly make a good team. They just need to figure that out for themselves before it’s too late.
