D'abord import\u00e9s par un zoo suisse, puis offerts \u00e0 un seigneur des Yvelines, ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 accueillis dans la r\u00e9serve zoologique de Sauvage (on ne pourrait pas inventer \u00e7a), avant de s'\u00e9chapper lors de la temp\u00eate de d\u00e9cembre 1999. De retour \u00e0 l'\u00e9tat sauvage, ils ont prosp\u00e9r\u00e9 \u2013 et se sont reproduits.<\/p>\n<p>Ce roman est l'histoire \u00e0 travers les si\u00e8cles de la relation entre l'humain exploiteur et l'animal exploit\u00e9, racont\u00e9e par un wallaby qui n'a jamais connu l'Australie. On y croise, entre autres, l'\u00e9l\u00e9phant Jumbo, c\u00e9l\u00e8bre pour avoir port\u00e9 pr\u00e8s d'un million d'enfants sur son dos, dont Churchill et Roosevelt, ainsi que ces \u201c nouveaux animaux de compagnie \u201d que des propri\u00e9taires peu scrupuleux revendent sur Internet.<\/p>\n<p>Un livre marquant, dot\u00e9 d'un point de vue unique et d'un humour d\u00e9vastateur.<\/p>\n<p><b>Antoine Philias<\/b> est n\u00e9 \u00e0 Cholet en 1990. Son roman pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent, Plexiglas, publi\u00e9 en 2023 (Asphalte Poche, janvier 2025), a remport\u00e9 le prix du Deuxi\u00e8me roman de Grignan. Il a \u00e9galement publi\u00e9 notamment un livre pour enfants co\u00e9crit avec Alice Zeniter (Home Sweet Home, L\u2019\u00c9cole des loisirs).
