Marc du Pontavice is a leading figure in French animation. Having begun his career in the 1990s when Gaumont Television was created, he was quickly tasked with heading up their animation unit, Gaumont Multimedia. This, despite not knowing anything about producing animated series.

But he learned on the job and created successful series like Les Zinzin de l’espace (Space Goofs) and Oggy et les cafards (Oggy and the Cockroaches). From there, he took a leap and created his own studio, Xilam.

In this memoir, Marc du Pontavice takes the readers behind the scenes and recounts the amazing stories of how he managed to put many of his series together, never an easy task. And how Xilam has grown over time into what is often referred to at the « Pixar » of France with dozens of series and animated films produced.

His memoir is a thirty year history of French animation.
