Welcome to the Corrigan Inn! A quaint bed & breakfast in Saint-Malo run by three generations of Corrigan women: Maggie, the 70-year-old matriarch with an active libido and sharp tongue, her divorced daughter Louise, and Louise’s closeted daughter Énora.

But when Maggie’s former lover, Paul Le Tohic, is found dead with bagpipes stuffed down his throat in a rival bed & breakfast nearby, this peaceful enclave of Saint-Malo no longer seems so quaint. Paul was staying in town to perform in a concert with his musical group, hence the bagpipes.

His body was discovered by Enora’s secret girlfriend Fanny, who works at that other B&B which happens to be owned by Louise’s ex-husband’s brother. There are no witnesses except that Fanny saw Maggie go into Paul’s room just before to the declared time of death. The Corrigan women convince Fanny not to say anything to the police so that they can figure out for themselves who murdered Paul. For a 63-year-old bagpipe player from a small town, it’s surprising how many suspects the Corrigans unearth.

And so the Corrigans take matters into their own hands so that Maggie won’t go down for a murder that she (probably) didn’t commit.
