 Maud Bordet, a young and unconventional doctor who is a specialist in infectious diseases is on the front lines. With the help of Samuel Laveran and other experts at the Pasteur Institute, she is in a frantic race against the deadly epidemic as it reaches other parts of France.

Maud and Samuel discover that the cause may not be natural, and that the strand of the disease currently killing hundreds has come from within the Pasteur Institute itself. They must find out who is responsible and why before the death toll gets out of control.
