The destinies of two women who have nothing in common are bound to a Steinway that has crossed the 20th century, brought together by an old secret and a love of music.

New York, June 1937. Tillie Schultz carries on the family tradition and begins working at Steinway & Sons among the « immortals », legendary pianists like Rachmaninov and Horowitz. She is a great music lover but her talent could never equal that of the masters she rubs shoulders with. To live her passion, she can only offer her services to those who possess the great talent that she does not.

Hong Kong, September 2014. Xià, a Chinese student, rediscovers the joy of playing thanks to Tillie Fù and her Steinway. She allows herself, for the first time since failing an exam, to place her fingers on the keys and play music for Tillie that Tillie can no longer play for herself. While these two women may be separated by 70 years, they are unknowingly united by a shared history and by their love for a music that projects a luminous beauty on their lives.

Marie-Diane Meissirel born in Paris in 1978, is French-American. After studying political science and business in France and Hong Kong, she now lives in Singapour.
