A remarkable novel that we think is about one thing when it’s about something else entirely.

Louise just wants to go home and be with her parents. This summer camp isn’t any fun and the counselors are mean. There must’ve been a mistake, her parents never would’ve sent her here. Perhaps she was even kidnapped. No matter, she will get out; she is determined to do so. Except the counselors are there every time she tries, always watching over her and the other children. Sometimes the other children just disappear, without a word.

With the help of her friends Simon and Juliette, Louise will risk everything in order to build a hang-glider as her way out of this place.

(spoiler alert...stop here if you don’t want to what’s really happening)

But Louise's point of view is not at all the reality of her situation. She has Alzheimer’s and is confusing her past with a present she doesn’t see clearly. Yes, she definitely wants to escape using a hang-glider but she’s not at summer camp, she’s in an assisted living facility.

Quentin Ebrard was born in 1991. After testing out journalism, he became a bookstagramer (more than 10 000 followers). This is his first novel.
