Claude Meyer has pursued a dual career as an international banker and an academic specialized in Asian economies. He is presently a Senior Advisor of the Ifri Center for Asian Studies and a Senior Fellow at GEM-Sciences Po. He teaches International Economics at PSIA-Sciences Po and has also lectured at universities and think-tanks in the US, China, Japan and Korea.

He has been Visiting Scholar at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and at the Weatherhead East Asian Institute, Columbia University. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics (EHESS, Paris) and degrees in Philosophy and Sociology (both from the Sorbonne) and Japanese Studies (National Institute of Oriental Studies, Paris).
