Why we believe in bullshit

by

Never before in the history of mankind have we had more access to information than they do now. Never before has our knowledge about the world in which we live and its performance has been comparable to the one we have now.

And yet, how is it possible that we firmly believe in hoaxes and superstitions? Why do we take for granted and spread stories and news that have never happened? What explains that, despite the evidence, we are unwilling to change our minds or even modify them?

The answers to these questions, as we will see in this book, have to do with multiple causes. To begin with, we will analyze why human beings are far from being rational beings. We will understand how we process information in a way that is far from objective because, ultimately, we seek to believe what we want to believe. We will examine why our memory is unreliable and how we elaborate false memories in a perfect way.

An exciting journey that helps us understand that almost everything we believe about the world and ourselves is wrong.
