« For Charles Aubert this novel that mixes poetry, contemplating nature and a police investigation is a true accomplishment. »

Niels Hogan, a surly forty-something has cut the cord. Taking advantage of downsizing measures at work, he settles — like the author — in a fishing hut to the south of Montpellier. There, he lives a quiet existence making bait.
That is, until he discovers a dead body while out fishing one day. This is the third victim in a short amount of time. Lizzie, his neighbor’s daughter who is a journalist, pushes Niels into helping her solve the crime. And he does, unwittingly making himself the police’s prime suspect.
This is the first in a trilogy of investigations featuring Niels and Lizzie.
Charles Aubert was sales director in an insurance company. After being laid off, he decided to leave the city and settle to the south of Montpellier with his wife and children.
