December 9, 1897, a small revolution in the newsstands of the Belle Époque: the first issue of « La Fronde », the first daily newspaper entirely designed, written, and printed by women, has just been published in France. This feat was made possible by journalist Marguerite Durant and the small team of Frondeuses she brought together.

In his third novel, Yoann Iacono brings to life the year leading up to this first issue and all the obstacles this formidable sisterhood had to overcome to assert themselves in a man’s world, where women were still denied entry to the National Assembly and the stock exchange.
