Étienne Hoarau was born with Little’s Disease, a form of cerebral palsy, which causes a stiffness in his leg muscles making it difficult for him to walk. He can only do so with the help of crutches. He spent his childhood in an out of hospitals, and in a special school for handicapped children.

Against all odds, as an adult, Étienne decided to travel around North and South American by bicycle. This book recounts that adventure as he began riding north from Chili to Bolivia and Peru, and then going to the US where he cycled his way from Seattle to Los Angeles.

Étienne describes the people who helped him along the way, the geography that he cycled across and how difficult it could be at times to travel such long distances with his handicap. But he persevered and showed that nothing could stand in his way.

Étienne Hoarau was born in 1977. He continues to travel around the world with his bicycle and when in France, is invited to give motivational speeches within corporations.
