The Austen Academy reimagines Jane Austen’s most iconic heroines in a modern-day, elite British school.

Across these books, Austen’s heroines navigate a world of likes, stories, and private messages, while navigating the timeless challenges of love, friendship, and self-discovery. Their stories intertwine, creating a rich picture of modern high school life while remaining true to the spirit of Jane Austen. While each book is an adaptation of a Jane Austen novel featuring the well-known protagonists, all of Jane Austen’s heroines are present in each book as they attend to the same school. So, Emma is a secondary character in the adaptation of Pride and Prejudice and Elizabeth Bennett is a secondary character in the adaptation of Emma.

Emma Woodhouse takes center stage. A popular influencer, she creates a dating app for the high school,  playing the modern matchmaker.  Her arrogance leads her to errors of judgment, particularly  concerning her own love life and that of her friend Harriet.

Behind the pseudonym Victoria Bath lie two women.  Virginie Lominet, a ghostwriter, is passionate about classic and contemporary literature, and, of course, Jane Austen for as long as she can remember. Since her early days in publishing, she has been supported and advised by Suzon Brûlon. She is an editor herself, a globetrotter in her spare time, and an avid reader of Jane Austen.
