A currently 17-book crime series set in the Italian Riviera that has never been presented internationally…
There’s a stain on Deputy Commissioner Gigi Berté’s past and it’s cost him dearly. As punishment, he’s been transferred from Milan to Lungariva*, one of the little towns on the Italian Riviera that’s overcrowded in summer and deserted in winter. And he has a secret: he writes surreal detective stories in his free time, but then a real dead body turns up. Will his experience as a policeman or his intuition as a writer help him solve the case?
*Lungariva is really Santa Margherita Ligure. International editors have the option of using the real name.
Elena and Michela Martignoni write the Commissioner Berté series in Italian under the pen name Emilio Martini. In addition to this series, they have published five historical novels (between 2005 and 2023) under their own names, primarily all centered on the Borgia period; three of which have been translated into German to create a trilogy by Goldmann Verlag.
